Get set up in four steps

Before you start tracking competitions, get the basics in place. Each step takes less than a minute.

1
Add your twirler — name, birthdate, the orgs they compete in, and their regular events.
2
Connect your coach — link an existing coach or invite yours to TwirlPower.
3
Connect your club — find your training club or invite them.
4
Find your first competition — log a meet your twirler attended (the rest of this guide covers exactly how).
Primary Path

Finding a competition

Finding competitions in TwirlPower is the fastest way to get your twirler's season on record. The directory shows verified upcoming competitions you can save directly to your schedule.

Browse and save competitions from the TwirlPower directory
1
From the sidebar, tap "Find" to open the competition directory.
2
Filter by state and/or organization to narrow the list.
3
Find your competition and tap "Save to Schedule." It's now in your My Competitions list.
Tip: Competitions posted by verified hosts show org, date, location, and director contact — no manual entry needed.
If It's Not In The Directory

Adding a competition manually

If your competition isn't listed yet, you can add it yourself. Name, date, and organization are the only required fields.

Manually add a competition using the Add Competition form
Can't find your competition in the directory? From the Find screen, scroll past the results and tap "Add it manually →" to open this form.
1
From your dashboard, tap "Add Competition." The button sits at the top of your twirler's dashboard (it's also one of the items in the "Getting started" checklist). This opens the "Add Competition" window.
2
Enter the "Competition name." For example, 2026 State Championships. If a competition with the same name and date already exists, you'll see a gentle duplicate warning.
3
Pick the "Date." Choose the day of the competition.
4
Choose the "Organization." Select USTA, NBTA, TU, DMA, AAU, or WTA. The orgs your twirler is registered for are marked with a ✓ so they're easy to spot.
5
Add the optional details if you want them. Once a date is set you can add an "End date" (for multi-day events), plus "State," "Start time," "Venue name," and "Address."
6
Set the "Sanctioned status." Pick "Sanctioned" (an official sanctioned competition) or "Unsanctioned" (a practice meet, invitational, or non-sanctioned event). It defaults to Sanctioned.
7
Add "Notes" if helpful. Optional — judge names, entry fees paid, or reminders for next year.
8
Choose how to finish. Tap "Add Results →" to enter events and results now (covered next), or "Save without results" to save just the competition and add results later. "Add Results →" turns on once the name, date, and organization are filled.
Tip: Not ready to enter results? "Save without results" creates the competition now, and you can come back and add results any time.
Step by Step

Adding your events

Once a competition is on your schedule, add the specific events your twirler is entered in. You can do this before the competition or on the day.

Add events to a competition using the Add Event modal
1
Go to "My Competitions" in the sidebar and find your competition. Tap "Add events." Or — if this is your next upcoming competition, it appears on your dashboard. Tap it there.
2
You'll land on the "My Events" tab. Tap "+ Add Event" in the top right.
3
Fill out the modal: choose Event Type, Competition Level, and Classification / Level.
4
Set Division (Open, Women, or Men) and Age if applicable.
5
For multi-day competitions, select the correct Competition Day.
6
Add Set #, Lane, Notes, or Judge / Evaluator Name if you have them — all optional.
7
Tap "Add Event" to save. Repeat for each event your twirler is entered in.
Tip: The event name auto-generates from your selections. You can override it with a custom name if you prefer.
Step by Step

Entering results

Results can be entered during the competition or after. There are three ways to get there.

Three ways to enter results: from the list, dashboard, or schedule

From My Competitions

Go to "My Competitions," find the event, and tap "Enter Results."

From your dashboard

If the competition is your next upcoming event, tap it on your dashboard, then go to the "Results" tab.

On competition day — TwirlTracker

From the Schedule page on competition day, tap the TwirlTracker tab when it appears. Log each result live as your twirler competes.

Competition day tip: TwirlTracker is built for the gym floor. Open it from your Schedule page and log each result as it happens — no hunting through menus.
After You Save

This is what in control feels like.

Once a few competitions are in, your twirler's dashboard starts telling a real story.

The classification tracker shows exactly how many wins stand between your twirler and their next level — in every event, across every org. The win count builds automatically as you enter results. You stop guessing and start knowing. That's what TwirlPower is for.
